The HIV reverse transcriptase molecule is carried with the virus. Without this naturally occurring protein the retrovirus would be unable to produce the hybrid dna from its genetic code and would fail to incorporate its genes into the host DNA. Rescriptor is an HIV drug that attacks the virus's reproduction by jamming the Reverse Transcriptase molecule.
